The Tabard does Treasure Island, 4 Dec to 2 Jan, 32 performances from £18. The borough's actual panto is Aladdin in Hounslow, 30 Nov to 24 Dec, £19.
Chiswick does not have a pantomime. What it has is the Tabard Theatre’s annual Christmas adaptation of a children’s classic, and this year it is Treasure Island, 4 December to 2 January. If you want an actual panto with a dame, the nearest is Aladdin at The Arts Centre in Hounslow, 30 November to 24 December.
Both are on sale now. Every date, time and price below was taken from the box office itself on 5 September 2026.
Treasure Island, Tabard Theatre, Chiswick
The Tabard is Chiswick’s studio theatre, at 2 Bath Road, W4 1LW, a few minutes from Turnham Green station. Its Christmas show is a house production: Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel adapted for the stage by Louise Haddington, from the team behind last year’s The Railway Children.
The theatre is explicit that this is not a panto. Its own piece, “Why the Tabard Tells Classic Stories at Christmas”, published 14 August 2026, sets it out: “Every theatre has its Christmas tradition. For many, it’s pantomime. At the Tabard, ours has become something rather different.” Recent years have been The Secret Garden, The Railway Children, Five Children and It and The Snow Queen, which won a Standing Ovation Award for Outstanding Production Values in 2024.
The practical detail, from the Tabard’s own production page:
- Run: Friday 4 December 2026 to Saturday 2 January 2027
- Performances: 32
- Tickets: from £18, priced per performance
- Running time: about 1 hour 45 minutes including an interval
- Age guidance: 6+
- Latecomers: not admitted until the interval
- Schools: weekday December matinees are bookable for school groups by emailing the theatre
The pattern is worth knowing before you book. Fridays are single evening performances at 6pm. Saturdays and most Sundays are doubles at 1pm and 5pm. Midweek dates are single evenings. The week before Christmas shifts: 22 and 23 December are 3pm, Christmas Eve is a single 12pm matinee, and then it runs almost daily from 27 December, with doubles again on 27, 28, 29 and 30 December, 31 December a 1pm matinee only and the last two performances on Saturday 2 January.
There is no performance on 7 or 8 December, 14 or 15 December, 21 December, 25 or 26 December, or 1 January.
Aladdin, The Arts Centre Hounslow
The borough’s traditional pantomime is at The Arts Centre, Hounslow, the venue in the Treaty Centre on Hounslow High Street, TW3 1ES, home of the Paul Robeson Theatre.
The 2026 show is Aladdin, which the venue says is its first since 2015. Its own listing promises Wishee Washee, Widow Twankey, Princess Jasmine and Abanazar, and describes the panto as “a highlight of the local Christmas season, welcoming thousands of families each year”.
From the TicketSource listing:
| Detail | Aladdin 2026 |
|---|---|
| Run | Monday 30 November to Thursday 24 December 2026 |
| Performances in the box office record | 28 |
| Adult, raked seating | £19.00 |
| Concession | £14.50 |
| Family ticket | £58.00 |
| Doors | 30 minutes before the performance |
| Box office | 020 7947 9263 |
Read the listing carefully before you book, because most of the run is aimed at schools. The first fortnight is dominated by 10am weekday performances. The dates a family is likely to want are the evening and afternoon ones: at the time of checking those were Friday 4 December at 7pm, Saturday 5 December at 3pm and Tuesday 8 December at 1pm. TicketSource shows only the next twelve performances at a time, so later December dates exist but are not displayed until the earlier ones pass.
What is not on
Watermans has no Christmas show, and no building. The Brentford arts centre is shut. Watermans’ own about page states it plainly: “In 2024, we closed our Brentford arts centre ahead of a planned move to a new building in central Brentford.” The organisation still programmes across the borough, mainly outdoor work at Bell Square, but its events sitemap currently lists nothing at all in November or December.
Chiswick House Christmas has not been announced for 2026. Last winter Chiswick House opened its state rooms for the first time at Christmas with The Twelfth Night of Christmas, an Underbelly production, plus a Father Christmas grotto. As of 5 September the event’s own site, chiswickhousechristmas.com, is still advertising last year’s run, dated on the page itself as “21st Nov to 4th Jan 2026”, and Chiswick House and Gardens’ what’s on listing runs out at the end of October with nothing festive after it. If it returns, expect the announcement in September or October. We will cover it when it lands.
Getting there
The Tabard is a short walk from Turnham Green station on the District line. The Arts Centre is inside the Treaty Centre on Hounslow High Street.
